What insurance do I need?
Tick everything that describes you. Your list sorts the covers into four levels, starting with what the law requires, and each line links to the guide that explains it.

What you need
How to read your list
- Compulsory by law. There is no choice. Driving, employing staff or hunting without the cover is an offence, and joining a health scheme is a legal duty.
- Usually required. The law does not impose it, but the bank, the school or the consulate you deal with does. You can often choose the insurer yourself.
- Strongly recommended. It protects you against a loss that would seriously damage your finances, for a price that is small next to that loss.
- Worth considering. Useful in some situations. Compare the premium with what you could pay out of your own pocket.
