CAT: claims, contacts and online services
CAT Assurance et Réassurance is the Compagnie d'Assurance Transport. It insures taxis and public passenger transport, and sells frontier insurance to foreign vehicles entering Morocco. This page explains how to declare a claim, who to call, what you can do online and how to complain.

About CAT
Compagnie d'Assurance Transport. Insures public passenger transport, and sells frontier insurance for foreign vehicles at every border post.
Assurlik is independent: it is not linked to CAT, sells none of its contracts and is not paid by it.
What CAT sells
- Taxi packs: Rahti, Rahti +, Mihani, Ifoulki (all risks), Tawfir (new taxis) and Mziya Chammel.
- Tricycles (triporteurs) and other vehicles.
- Frontier insurance for foreign-registered vehicles, at the border posts and online.

Declaring a claim
- After an accident. CAT's site has an "En cas d'accident" guide. Declare to your CAT agent within 5 days.
- Taxis. CAT Taawid Express is a centre dedicated to the inspection and quick payment of taxi claims.
- Declare within 5 days of learning of the loss (60 days for an officially declared catastrophic event), in writing, and keep a copy.
- Send what proves the loss: the constat amiable for a car accident, the police report for a theft or injuries, photos and invoices.
- Do not repair or throw anything away before the insurer's expert has seen it, unless it is urgent.

Questions
Is CAT an approved company?
Yes. CAT is on the list of companies approved by ACAPS, the regulator. Before you pay, you can check that list, and the map of approved agents and brokers, on acaps.ma.
Does Assurlik sell CAT's contracts?
No. Assurlik sells nothing and takes no commission. To buy, use CAT's own channels, or ask several insurers for a quote.
Where do I buy frontier insurance?
At the border post when you arrive with a foreign car without a valid green card for Morocco, or online on CAT's frontier site before you travel. Our guide for drivers coming to Morocco explains both.
