About MATU

Mutuelle d'Assurances des Transporteurs Unis. The mutual of taxi, coach and road-transport operators.

Assurlik is independent: it is not linked to MATU, sells none of its contracts and is not paid by it.

What MATU sells

  • Car: cover for private drivers, and group terms for employees of partner organisations.
  • Other risks: work accidents, home and other risks; goods transport is a newer line.

Our guides to the covers it sells:

Declaring a claim

  • Declaring a claim. Go to one of MATU's 250 points of sale or write to it within 5 days. For a car accident, bring the constat amiable.
  1. Declare within 5 days of learning of the loss (60 days for an officially declared catastrophic event), in writing, and keep a copy.
  2. Send what proves the loss: the constat amiable for a car accident, the police report for a theft or injuries, photos and invoices.
  3. Do not repair or throw anything away before the insurer's expert has seen it, unless it is urgent.
